Where are you Spring?! Still feels like Fall-ish weather, warm with a breeze. So I decided to wear an outfit that matches the weather. Black with a pop of Pink! The dress was cool although it was black, the shoes gave it the Spring look.
Wearing a dark colored outfit with pop accessories always makes the outfit. Being that it was black any color would bring out the outfit. The dress was simple with a touch of class and would you believe it was free?? My aunt gifted the dress to me! The shoes and clutch came from the same store months apart but matched perfectly and waiting to be worn at the right time.
My philosophy is it doesn’t have to be expensive to be classy and chic!
The total outfit was $20!
Well the warm weather is coming to an end, so hard to say Goodbye! I’ll miss the summer nights outside sitting on the patio and talking with next to no clothes on lol. My most enjoyable thing about the warm weather is sitting on the rooftop of a nice hotel with good company while sipping.
Unscripted is a new hotel in Durham that has a pool on the rooftop. It recently opened and has been quite the popular spot. Nothing like being around good vibes eating good food and being able to dip your toes in the pool. Can’t ask for much more on the last weekend of summer.
I wanted to be dressed for a casual evening but sexy at the same time. Sometimes when you think of something too much it becomes frustrating and harder to accomplish. Well i decided last minute to put on some capri’s and plain white tank with blue heels. Everyone loved the heels, the royal blue(my fav color) seemed to catch everyone’s attention! I paired it with a royal blue/bright yellow clutch to bring out the outfit, simple yet classy!
I’ve always been a girlie girl, no doubt about that! I love dressing up and feeling like a million dollars. Looking like a a million dollars is always the goal but you definitely don’t have to spend a million dollars for any look!
Being invited to an formal gala a week before made me feel a little anxious but I knew I could pull it off. I just simply had to grind and be in Beast Mode! The look I was going for was to be sexy yet classy, no cleavage and not too much skin showing. Being in a room with an older crowd I didn’t want to portray the wrong image as this was my first time at this particular event and meeting new folk of prestige.
Well believe it or not I pulled off this entire look for about $30! (check below for prices) Sometimes formal dresses can be a little out of budget especially when we wear them only once for special occasions such as weddings or galas! I did not want to pay that much for one night! I ended up finding a dress online from a lady who had only worn it twice and it was the perfect fit, not too tight and not too big. The shoes and clutch bag were items I already owned but at good prices!
Be Confident, Be you! Dress tastefully and with class while staying true to yourself!
Homecoming is a time of remembering staying in the dorms, meeting new people from all walks of life and the crazy things we did in college as youngsters! Its always good to see classmates and roommates, how they have changed and accomplished things.
Tailgating has always been my thing, food drinks and good times! I love seeing everyone come together. Mixing and mingling was great to do. Walking across campus is task in itself! Of course some people you see some people only during this time of year so you want to look your best for yourself first but to others, especially those old flings that missed out on you, LOL.
I was going for a Fall look that was comfortable but also something stylish. Flats were a must with all the walking I had to do and my handy-dandy cross-body bag to keep my essentials. The pieces initially did not match in my eyes but I thought what the Hey, why not?! Who’s matching these days!?

It’s going down in the QC! Food, drinks, new city and just having fun! I’m not too much of a night owl like I used to be in my youthful days but stepping out once in a while is always nice to do especially when its a change from you normal surroundings.
I hadn’t been to Charlotte in the past 3 years which is shameful since I live about 2.5 hours away, but I don’t like driving! I hate driving lol. And this trip I still didn’t drive, luckily I have a friend that works at the airport.
Of course I had to pack accordingly for traveling and having a carry on, so a few sundresses a pair of jeans and heels and flip flops with cute tops and a skirt. I’ve always been a neat and organized packer so I knew I had to make my outfits work around the shoes I bought. I think most females can relate when I say some of us may take about 30 bags sometimes for just a weekend! Learning to downsize and pack lightly was a challenge but I think I mastered it! I had fun and was able to feel and look sexy and comfortable on my weekend getaway!
How do you organize your clothing items for travel?
